Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
if my iud moved. Dr says it needs taken out and replaced. Will i have same bleeding side effects on replacement iud as i did on first one placed? I hoped that uterus would be somewhat use to an iud and the bleeding time would be much less than the approximate six mth time.
Hello, Thank you for your query. Yes it is possible for the heavy bleeding to occur again if it happened with your first IUD.
If the bleeding is too heavy or is causing you concern, please talk to your OBGYN for other contraceptive options.
Excessive bleeding is of concern and is a side effect that warrants change in the mode of Contraception. Daily pills or an injection once in three months are other options without risk of excessive bleeding. Please talk to your OBGYN about which is the best option for you, especially if you other coexisting medical conditions like heart disease or hypertension or high cholesterol.
Hope this helps. Please let me know if there is anything else I can do to help. Wish you good health
