Hi,I am Dr. Prabhakar Koregol (Cardiologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have been nautious for the last three days, non stop. Stomach cramping and terrible nauseous pit in my belly that sends burning sensations up my body into trachea and throat. I finally puked a few hours ago and even though I had food in my system all that came up was stomach acid and just a tiny bit. I don t know if its anything serious enough to go to doctor for, do these symptoms sound familiar? I did have pericarditis a few months back, wondering if this could be related?
I can understand your concern dear.i want to assure you that it is not because of pericarditis . It seems to be gastroesophageal reflux disease that is GERD.in this there is laxity of gastroesophageal sphincter that causes regurgitation of food and nausea and some times vomiting . Most of time it is associated with gastritis that is inflammation of stomach..it may be because of any medicine especially pain killers or alcohol or some spicy food or caffeine rich drinks etc.no need to panic..take an antacid with prokinetic such as pantoprazole with domperidon . If it persist then you must consult your physician because there are few other cause that can be rule out by complete history and examination and if needed few tests. Hope this will help. .
