The olive oil is known to have a very good effect on the baby and it is not known to cause any tanning or darkness of the baby.
As your child had umbilical cord around the neck for which your baby was pit on antibiotics and other medications. This may be reason for your child condition.
The olive oil has a very protective effect on the skin of the baby. So the symptoms of your baby is not because of the oil but it may be due to other reasons like defect in metabolism, jaundice and other infections.
