Mirena is an intrauterine device with progesterone.It does not decrease the risk of cervical cancer.

Mirena offers no protection against sexually transmitted disease and as we know 90% cases of cervical cancers are caused by STD. HPV(Human papiloma virus). Mirena dsnt prevent against cervical cancer. Its always better to get vaccinated against cervical cancer. Take care
