Does Minocycline Side Effects Cause Itchiness And Puffy Skin?
Hi I was prescribed minocycline & I took it for about two weeks. I haven't taken it in three days and for the past three days I have been experiencxing extremely itchy hives & my skin gets puffy when I scratch it. Could I be having an allergic reaction to the medications even though I haven't taken it in 3 days?
You seem to have developed an urticarial skin reaction. There are various causes of development of such a skin rash. It can develop due to intake of various medicines especially antibiotics and pain killers or it can occur even due to intake of some foodstuffs containing added colors or preservatives or even due to any body infections like a gastrointestinal or urinary or a respiratory infection. In your case , there is a possibility of it being related to the intake of minocycline although I would advise you to see your treating doctor so as to rule out other causes.
