Does Lump On Gum Filled With Puss Cause Any Problem While Travelling?

Hi - I am 49 and have been invited to go to Vietnam at the end of the month with a well travelled friend...the only problem is i have gum disease [confirmed by dentist] and can feel another lump on my gum, showing pus-filled spots, which will burst and return again..should i get the problem sorted before going so far away or doesn't it make any difference? thanks...

Thank you for your query,

It is always advisable to get it sorted out before leaving your country.
If it returns again in other country and in worse condition then it will be difficult to manage as variables in the form of language, doctor expertise, sterilization conditions, medication etc. increases.
My advise is to get it sorted out before taking the Vietnam trip so that you could enjoy without thinking about your gums!!!!

Dentist, Endodontics Dr. Shesh Jaiswal's  Response
Hello and thanks for consulting HCM.

I would strongly recommend you to get the treatment done before going out.

As per your dentist if its only due to gum infection then only cleaning your gums and teeth can solve the problem.but if its related to teeth then the concerned teeth should also be treated.

Only taking medicines is not an option.

Take care

Regards
Dr Shesh

Dentist, Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Dr. Mahesh Kumar T S's  Response
Thanks for your query, I have gone through your query.
The gum infection could be because of the deposits, the other possible cause for this repeated gum infection could be diabetes. Repeated or multiple periodontal abscess can occur in diabetes. Consult a oral physician and get it evaluated. Get your teeth cleaned once. Get the blood sugar level checked once. For the gum infection, you can take a course of antibiotics.
I hope my answer will help you, take care.
