Does Irregularity In Taking Birth Control Pills Lead To Pregnancy?
I took my pill everyday for a few months before this, but forgot to take it one day and had sex without a condom on this day, a few hours after the time I would usually take it. I then took it the normal time the day after, and again forgot it the following day. Other than that i have taken it everyday at the right time again. What are the risks of becoming pregnant after missing it and having unprotected sex?
When you forget to take a birth control pill, you increase the chance of releasing an egg from your ovary. If you have missed one pill anywhere in the pack, you're still protected against pregnancy. You should take the last pill you missed now, even if this means taking two pills in one day.Carry on taking the rest of the pack as normal. Missing two or more pills can make your pill less effective at preventing pregnancy. If you've missed two or more pills anywhere in the pack, your protection against pregnancy may be affected. You should take the last pill you missed now, even if this means taking two pills in one day. Leave any earlier missed pills, carry on taking the rest of the pack as normal.
Use extra contraception such as condoms for the next seven days
So it is best to do protected sex if you forgot to take 2 or more birth control pills during one cycle.
All the best.
