Does Iron Supplement Cause A Mineral Body Odour?

I am scheduled to have weight loss surgery in Jan. 2018. I have been on a diet for a few months, not eating a lot of spicy foods and I started taking vitamins when I went on the diet. my doctor gave me a booklet to read with info I need know before and after surgery. the book says I should be taking an iron supplement, like the vitamins i m taking, before surgery as well. I started taking the iron about a month ago and I ve noticed I have a mineral body odor now. could the iron supplement cause this odor? I do sweat a lot but I take a shower every day

It is not known an effect of iron supplement to give metalic body odour. It gives metalic taste in mouth and maybe this is why you feel like that.
