Does Intake Of Progyluton And Glucophage For PCOD Cause Changes In Period Cycle?

hello, I am Abrar ,I was pregnant and I had abortion in the 8th week of pregnancy as there was no fetal heart and , knowing that I was suffering of irregular menses before pregnancy, after following up with my doctor I was diagnosed with PCOD and he prescribed PROGYLUTON, OVACURE and GLUCOPHAGE XR.I would like to know how will it effect on my ovulation and my period.

PCOD is nothing but 'Poly Cystic Ovarian Disease'. This conditionwould cause irregular menstrual periods, for which it makes difficult to conceive. Irregular menstrual periods will not only affect ovulation but also hampers preparation of uterus for implantation.

The main stay of treatment for PCOD is as follows:
1. Weight Reduction through a low-calorie diet combined with moderate exercise activities.
2. Regular periods by use of combined birth control pills — pills that contain both estrogen and progestin.
3. Helping to ovulate through metformin and clomifen.
4. Reduction of excessive hair growth by spironolactone.

What the doctor has prescribed you is proper, and it will help you to regulate your period and have timely ovulation.
