Does Implantation Of Mirena Cause Hypothyroid?
i was diagnosed with hypothyroid 11/2 years after inserting mirena. before that my thyroid was normal. i was given levothyroxine 50mcg. my level was 18.5. i removed mirena after i was diagnosed for hypo. i again checked for my thyroid level after 2 months and it was in control. how is it possible? my antibodies came positive the first time i was diagnosed for hypo. no one in family has hypo. my BP level is normal. i have a doubt whether mirena triggered hypo.

Mirena does not leads to hypothyroidism. If you are hyperthyroid, thyroxine supplementation may be required.
