Does Foul Smelling Spotting Indicate Miscarriage?

I am suppose to be 10 weeks according to my LMP, but I had a ultrasound and the baby measured 5 weeks, the doctor said I could be earlier than what i thought or a miscarriage. Now I am spotting a foul smelling discharge. Could this be a sign of miscarriage? I have a ultrasound scheduled for Monday but I m freaking out.

Hello dear,I understand your concern.In my opinion the disparity of 5 weeks can be either due to wrong dates or improper growth of fetus.The spotting can be due to miscarriage,any hormonal abnormalities like thyroid abnormalities or progesterone insufficiency,any bleeding from cervix etc.But if you have regular cycles with exact dates then this type of picture indicate abnormal pregnancy.Anyway confirmation needs to be done by ultrasound.Avoid stress and intercourse.Rest is advisable.
