hi doctor, im pregnant for 12 weeks. my fren says that our food will effect our baby skin colour. is that true ? she said i need to eat fair colour food ans avoid black or coffee colour food and drink a lot of soya bean drinks . as i know our gen will dominate the skin colour rite ? please answer my question. thanks
Hello, Thanks for asking your question. Your question is very valid and i would like to tell you that colour of baby's skin will only depend on genes of you and your husband only, no kind of food can alter the skin colour of your baby. So it is misconception that eating fair food will affect your baby's colour. But yes, eating healthy and nutritious food will definitely affect your baby's growth. Protein rich diet and sufficient intake of vitamins and minerals will definitely help in growing your baby better. So remove such misconception and eat healthy and nutritious food. Be stress free and best of luck for your pregnancy.
