Does Dark Grey Looking Vein Behind Left Tonsil Indicates Inflamed Blood Vessel?
I have a dark grey looking vein behind my left tonsil. Could this be an inflamed blood vessel? I have had a history of hay fever, post nasal drip, acid reflux and recently a mildly inflamed throat, which might have irritated the area (when sneezing/ difficulty swallowing) but I'm not sure?
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of dark grey looking vein behind left tonsil. Well the symptoms you mention in query can occur due to many reasons like for tonsillitisstrep throat , viral pharyngitis and allergic reaction and it could be due to increased blood flow to particular area. Need not to worry. For now do warm saline gargles , take off your stress and take benadryl twice a day. I would suggest you to consult ENT specialist for proper examination. Doctor may order throat swab test , viral culture test and allergy test. Doctor may prescribe antibiotics, anti allergic, anti inflammatory and doctor may refer you to oral pathologist for bulging vein.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
