Does Contraceptive Zoely Cause Irregular Menstruation?
Hi, I have been taking the contraceptive pill: Zoely for 3 weeks now. I am a bit concerned because I started the pill on the second day of my period and I finished my period on the 3rd day of it as it only goes for 5 days. im a bit concerned because I have had my period twice since then both going for 5 days. Meaning i have only had a break from it for 4 days in between each one. I am currently on my second period and it is fairly heavy as was my last one. I was just wondering if this consitentsy of my period is normal for this pill?

It is not uncommon for cycles to be irregular for the first two months on a new oral contraceptive pill. Then things usually fall into a normal pattern. But the amount of bleeding you described seems excessive even in the first month. I recommend that you talk with your doctor about what is going on.
Zoely is a combination (estrogen + progestin) contraceptive pill as are most contraceptive pills that are used when women first start on hormonal contraception. However, some combination pill formulations have higher amounts of these hormones, some have lower amounts. You may need a different concentration than what is in this contraceptive. So I recommend you call your doctor, or go in, to discuss what has gone on these past 3 weeks.
