Does Constant Post Nasal Drip And Swelling Above Cheekbone Indicate Sinus Infection?

Dear Doctor, I am a 52 year old female . I constantly have post nasal drip, have started snoring during sleep and when I wake in the morning, I have swelling in little pockets on the top of my cheekbones, directly under the eye. I have used Netty Pot to try and drain my sinuses but did not take this away. My right ear always feels plugged and that is the side of my face that the cheekbone is most swollen. Is this a sinus infection?

Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concern..

As per your complain post nasal drip, snoring and swelling over cheek bones and congestion seems to be due to sinus infection or sinusitis which seems to be due to bacterial infection..
The plugged feeling in ear seems to be due to ear infection secondary to sinusitis causing post nasal drip..
I would suggest you to consult an Otolaryngologist and get evaluated and a thorough clinical evaluation and investigations like PNS View of sinuses can help in confirmation and treatment can be planned accordingly..
For sinusitis he can advise you to take antibiotics like Augmentin, anti-inflammatory painkiller like Ibuprofen, decongestant like Phenylephrine, mucolytics like Ambroxol, saline nasal sprays, steam inhalations an steroid nasal sprays..
Use a humidifier in your room..
Do warm compresses at the swollen areas and sip plenty of warm fluids..
You can put antibiotic ear drops..

Hope this information helps..

Thanks and regards.
