64 years, female, 218lbs, 5'4" taking meds for High Blood Pressure and inactive Thyroid. Have severe osteo arthitis in right knee and left hip from accident 10 years ago resulting in severe head trauma and coma 6 weeks. I do not have insurance but qualify for Medicare in May 2013 Does coca cola increase jiont pain?
Hi, Coca cola is a calorie rich soda, known to cause weight gain and reduce absorption of certain essential vitamins. Osteoarthritis is commonly caused by weight gain and traumatic injury to the joint. Coca cola indirectly leads onto reduced calcium absorption, poor nutrition (due to mal-absorption or reduced calorie intake) and increased weight gain.
However you can try knee support, physiotherapy, passive exercises to improve muscle strength and good joint support around the affected joint.
