Does Brain Tumor Cause Headache, nausea And Weight Gain?

Hi, I am a 27 year old female who has been suffering with debilitating headaches, nausea, and severe weight gain over the past 5 months. I recently had a head CT with abnormal results - my ventricles were asymmetrical. I am currently waiting on the results of an MRI. Could this be a brain tumor?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Best investigation for detecting brain tumors is MRI. However high grade and severe brain tumors will also be seen in CT also. Seeing your clinical picture MRI should be done. Trying to figure out problems before testing them and simply worrying about them will do you no good. So stop worrying and get the test done. Chances of finding an aggressive brain tumor is very low, so stop worrying.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
