Does Antibiotics For Bone Infection Cause Vomiting And Chills?

My friend just had surgery to remove metal plattes in his legs and he has osteomyelitis. He had two surgeries tto clean up infected bone. He came home from hospital and is supposed to get a pic line for antibiotics. They were unable to do pic line so he has oral antibiotics to hold him over he started vomiting and has chills and can not get warm. I want him ti go to er he is refusing. He can die from this can t he?

Is the vomiting excessive that he can't even drink water or fluids ? In that case yes it can become serious as he will get dehydrated. Then it's better to go to ER and get Injections .

If vomiting is not excess you can give him TAb Ondansetron 4mg 3 times a day ( before food ) and Tab Pantop 40mg once a day ( before food ) and observe if vomiting stops . If not get him to ER.

Vomiting could be antibiotic induced or due to infection of bone .
