Does An Empty Fetal Sac Indicate Miscarriage?

Hi, I had my LMP on 20/5/2017. My period has been irregular (delayed a few days each month)Tested positive on 18/6/2017 which indicates I was 2-3 weeks pregnant. I had my first tranvaginal scan on 17/7/2017 and saw an empty sac. My hcg level on 20/7/2017 was 9954. I m very afraid it s a miscarriage. Any chance of that happening? Please advise

Hi I think you should repeat a scan after 2 weeks to see if fetal pole is there or not. If fetal pole has not formed, it is more likely to be a miscarriage. If it is an empty sac, better to go for a medical termination of pregnancy. Hope it helps.
