Does An Active Sex Life Change The Menstrual Cycle?

Hello doctor, I’m 28years old married female and trying to conceive from past 4 months. Before we started trying for a baby my periods cycle was 40days… after trying for baby it’s going to 57 to 60days. So can you please explain what is going on with my health? Thanks and Regards, Maddy.

Hi
Dr. Purushottam welcomes you to HCM virtual clinic!
Thanks for consulting at my virtual clinic. I have carefully gone through your case, and I think I have understood your concern. I will try to address your medical concerns and would suggest you the best of the available treatment options.
It is time to check why your periods are getting prolonged. Delay in onset of menses suggests to pay attention to ovulation process. I will
suggest to have check on your weight gain if any.USG scan is advisable to rule out PCOS condition. If needed you can go for blood tests like FSH, LH, Prolactin, AMH on day 2 or 3 of the cycle.
I will suggest you-
1] to start on Folic acid, B 12 , multi vitamin supplementation.
2]Please indulge in healthy diet and regular exercise regimen.
3] Avoid bakery foods, deep fried foods and refined sugars.
I hope my answer helps you.
Thanks.
