Hi,I am Dr. Amitkumar Sharma (Internal Medicine Specialist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Yesterday I was started on a seizure medication, Keppra. I am taking 500 mg/day for one week and then will be taking 1000mg/day starting next week. I realize that I am not supposed to drink alcohol with any medication, but will I have to be 100% abstinent from all alcohol forever? Once my body adjusts, will I be able to have an occasional glass of wine?
Hello , Welcome to healthcaremagic.com and thanks for sharing your concern with us There is not any major interaction if alcohol is consumed with this drug but it can make you more drowsy . One drink is permitted with it but more than that should be avoided . Best Regards, DR.S.TOMAR
