Does A 52 Beats Per Minute Indicate Bradycardia?

I gave birth to my first child eight weeks ago and today my husband checked my bp with a machine we bought. My bp was 94over62. But what worried me was my bpm which was 52. I currently weigh 54kgs and do not have any health issued. Is it possible I could have bradycardia? And should I see a doctor because thrombosis runs in my family. Thanks Pam

Hello,
Electronic devices for checking pulse can falter at times. You may also repeat the test after a day or two. A pulse rate of less than 52 is definitely abnormal. Also, it is advisable to get a check up since you have a family history of thrombosis. All peripheral pulses should be checked regularly. Sometimes, if there is block in the vessel, there is an impedance to the blood flow, this may result in low pulse. In this event, medication is needed. Hope you find this information useful. Hope this helps.
