Cardiologist 's  Response
Hello,

I would explain that Zyrtec does not usually cause high blood pressure as an adverse effect.

For this reason, I would recommend consulting with your attending physician for a physical exam and some tests in order to investigate the possible causes underlying high blood pressure values:
- complete blood count, PCR, ESR for inflammation
- thyroid hormone levels for thyroid gland dysfunction
- blood electrolytes for possible imbalance
- kidney and liver function tests
- fasting glucose.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Ilir Sharka, Cardiologist
