Does Utovlan Help To Postpone Periods?

Hi Doctor I would like to know if I can take Utovlan to delay my period as I am going on Holidays as from 26th December but the problem is that am 46 years old and have been subject to hormonal disorder for the past few months. I get my period after 3 months absence and for this month am waiting whether I will get it or not. So can I still take Utovlan or Primolut to delay my period and will I be subject again to hormonal disorder if I take these pills. Thanking you beforehand for your kind reply.

I have gone through your query and can understand your concern...
Yes utovlan could help you to delay your period. Utovlan tablets contain the active ingredient norethisterone, which is a synthetic version of the naturally-occurring female sex hormone progesterone.
You could start Utovlan or Primolut to delay my period, by taking this 2-3 days before going to your holidays. Take this 3 times a day for 7-10 days. Taking them for short duration of 7-10days will not cause much hormonal change in you.
However missing periods at age of 46 could mean that you might be approaching menopause. Menopause is life event in females when she stops ovulating & hence her periods stops permanently.
