Does Morphine Interact With Dilaudid And Oxycodone?

I have a spinal cord injury and have had nine surgeries, The last one was on my neck and I spent ten hours in surgery. I have been on narcotics for twelve years. the The other day I was given Dilaudid 4 mg 4x a day, I also take 100 mg morphine cr 4 x a day. Soma 4x Xanax 4x . This is the most relief I ve ad in a very long time. How long do you think it will work. The Dilaudid replaced oxycodone 30 mg 6 x a day. Thank you

Hi,

I'm glad to hear you are having relief from your pain, however, you are on high doses of opiates (morphine and Dilaudid), and along with Soma and Xanax, are at high risk for adverse effects.

I would recommend that you continue to take your medications only as prescribed, and be aware for any symptoms of overdose like sedation.

Also, over time your body can become less sensitive to the effect of opiates, and your requirement may increase, and sometimes patients even have increased pain while taking opiates.

That being said, I know it is important to get your pain under control, but please be careful with this combination of medications.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
