Does IBS Causes Intestinal Cramps And Chest Pains?
I have pretty sever IBS. Just intestinal cramping. when the cramping gets bad I ve not been able to work and since being off work I ve notice im starting to have chest pains to the left of my sternum. I have noticed that when I need to move my bowels I sometimes get a really sharp shooting pain in the same area. But recently they happen daily and frequently. My doc didn t seemed concerned but its very scary to sit here and feel pains in my chest. I just turned 40 and I don t know of any heartdiesease that runs in the family. and I was checked by a doc with BP, heart rate, lungs etc. Is there any way my severe intestinal cramping could cause that pain? or nerves connected between the 2?

HELO N WELCOME. ACTUALLY THE CARDIA OF THE STOMACH , WHEN THERE IS DECREASED MOTILLITY AND DYSPEPSIA CAN LEAD TO CRAMPING CHEST PAIN N DISCOMFORT. NO NEED TO WORRY. JUST TO BE SURE GET AN ECG OR ETT ( EXERCIZE TOLERANCE TEST) TO EXCLUDE ANY HEART DISEASE. FOR IBS I WOULD ADVISE TAB MEBEVERINE 200 MG TAB EUCARBON BOTH FOR 2 MONTHS ONCE DAILY. AND CAP NEXUM 40 MG ONCE FOR 2 WEEKS. THANX

No, There are no nerves connected between the intestine and the chest .
The cramps in the abdomen are definitely due to IBS which is in the active form.
The chest pain is due to a condition called costo-chondritis.
And both the conditions worsen with the increasing level of stress and strain on the mind / anxiety.
