Thanks for being concerned about your husbands health.
Welcome to health care magic.
I will answer your question directly by stating that both
Citalopram and
Simvastatin cause
dizziness. There are no additive drug interactions between Citalopram and Simvastatin.
The reason that your husband is taking Citalopram is as a psychological measure. Citalopram comes under the type of drugs called as SSRI antidepressants. There are several other SSRI drugs that can you can replace Citalopram with.
Note that dizziness with Citalopram is a very rare side effect.
But dizziness with Simvastatin is very common. Thus to avoid dizziness this drug can be replaced with another drug that has the same actions, with an acceptable side effect profile.
One more thing, Citalopram, in certain psychiatric illnesses like Manic-
Depression, can cause a person to become aggressive or bullheaded.
I haven't examined your husband, rather take him to a
psychiatrist.
This might help you.
