Does Bydureon Cause Constipation And Abdominal Bloating?

I am taking Bydureon once a week. Never had a problem with it before; but this time I am having a lot of constipation and abdominal swelling. I have been taking Miralax; but it does not seem to work since I have been on the Bydureon. I am going 4 and 5 days between bowel movements.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Bydureon is known to cause indigestion and abdominal bloating. If you are taking it for long without any side effects. You should try to exclude other causes of constipation (intestinal infection or infestation, less water or fibers intake, or lack of exercises, uncontrolled diabetes) Get needful treatment for the cause. Consult your diabetologist for change in dosage.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Vasudha Jayant Athavale
