My neurologist gave me a trigger point injection of bupivicaine in the back of my head, both sides of my neck, and the muscles in both shoulders to relieve pain from a tension headache I had off/on for nearly 20 days. Since the TPI, I have had slowed and labored breathing for 3 days. I am unable to exercise normally, and get easily winded while walking and talking. Before this, I was able to exercise for 45 minutes vigorously (140 bpm heartrate) and still talk/sing. It has been 4 days and there is no sign of improvement. My neurologist has provided bo answers. I went to my GP who thinks it may be an allergy of some sort, and prescribed me Symbicort and Singulair. I do not show any signs of itching, rash, etc. Meanwhile, my breathing is labored, slow, and sharp (inspiration and exhalation). I have constant fatigue, lightheadedness, and increased dizziness when I try to breathe extra hard. I am yawning and tired most of the day. I find ot hard to catch my breath. Could this be phrenic nerve damage from the Trigger Point Injections? Could the bupivicaine have caused this? How would I go about determining this, and how would I convince my doctor(s) to reassess the diagnosis? Thank you.
