Do Lumps On Neck Indicate Thyroid?

my dr tells me that I have not got thyroid but I do not feel right my trouble started last june I got a dart of pain across the front of my neck this has not affected my throat or swallowing I had a scan of my throat and a barium meal done at the hospital and got the all clear i have a lump at each side of the front of neck and a tightness when I stretch my neck and my hair has gone dry and limp and is falling out I get more tired and my arthritis is troubling me more can you tell me if I have thyroid trouble please ?

Based on your query, my opinion is as follows.
1. If ultrasound has failed to identify any enlarged thyroid, you probably do not have any enlarged thyroid.
2. Get a thyroid hormone profile done. Evaluation for any thyroid trouble should start with hormone profile.
3. As there is no difficulty in swallowing, or any pain, not to worry.
4 Dry hair, tiredness and bone pains, are features of hypothyroidism. Meet your doctor to get thyroid hormone profile done. Hypothyroidism need not always have a lump in the neck.
