Do I Gain Weight By Using Ginette 35?

Hi, I am 25 years old and have irregular periods. I was diagnosed with PCOS after an ultrasound. My doctor has prescribed Ginette 35, but I am worried about Weight Gain as side effect of the medicine, although my doctor mentioned that the pills will help me lose weight as my appetite will reduce. I am still very worried. Please advise.

Hi, thanks for using healthcare magic

Ginette 35 can be associated with weight gain or weight loss. Persons react differently to the medication.

Medications can cause weight gain through different mechanisms such as water retention, increased appetite and change in metabolism.
To reduce the chance of any weight gain, you would need to consider using foods and drinks that would not be associated with weight increase.
This would mean reducing the use of any high calorie or high carbohydrate items.

I hope this helps
