Do Contractions Cause Elevation In The Blood Sugar Level?

Can contractions cause blood sugar levels to rise? I have gestational diabetes and have been able to control my numbers very well and today they have been much higher than normal even with eating the same meals that I have eaten over the past days/weeks and had perfect numbers?

Contractions don't cause rise in blood sugars .
With contractions the blood sugar level decreases.
Monitor your sugars for one more day to see if you need any increase in dose of insulin or adding of insulin
