Do I Need To Seek Treatment For Chest Congestion?

I have had exteme chest congestion with a very sharp unproductive cough for 3 days. My chest is now very tight and it is painful if I try to cough. I have been pushing water and taking an expectorant and advil. This morning I was running a fever of a little over 100 degrees. Any suggestions and when do I need to seek treatment. No headache or other flu symptoms. I am 60 years old and otherwise in excellent health.

As you have mentioned it is seen that you are suffering from severe chest infection. For this you have to take some antibiotic like tan augmentin 625 mg three times daily or tab levofloxacine 500 mg once daily after meals for at least 5 days along with tab akilos-p or tab ultracet twice daily after meals for fever with tab levocetrizine or tab fexofenadine twice daily after meals with cap omez or cap rabeprazole twice daily before meals. For unproductive cough you have to take syrup tusq-dx or syrup grilinctus 2 tsf three times daily after meals. Above all these you also have to take steam inhalation at least three to four daily as it is very helpful in relieving the congestion and tightness of your chest.
