Discomfort In Ear, Pain, Numbness. What Could This Be?

My ear sorta feels weird. Almost like Im gonna get an ear infection . There s some minor pain and earlier when I would speak it kinda sounded like an echo with ringing. When I got home I tried cleaning my ears and when I poke it, it feels numb inside, deep inside. The other one has more feeling. Wondering what this could be? I really really don t wanna wake up in pain tomorrow. Darn it!

ENT Specialist 's  Response
HI

I have gone through your query regarding pain, numbness and echo in ear, indicates that you are suffering from acute otitis media.

I would like to tell you that initially you felt ear blockade due to obstruction of eustachian tube (tubular connection between ear and throat) this in turn lead to negative pressure in middle ear this is responsible for developing echo sound, this blockade and echo compel you for ear cleaning, and as you poke for cleaning probably ear drum got hurt thus numbness appeared.

Now you are advice to contact an E.N.T.specialist for thorough clinical examination to establish diagnosis and treatment.

I hope now you are clear about query, if still you have any doubt you may contact again.

Thanks.
