Diagnosed With Vertigo, Feeling Like Zombie, Vertigo Attacks With Intensive Thinking, After Waking Up From Nap. On Amitryptaline. Advice
I am diagniosed with stressed induced BPPV (vertigo). I got it for the past 1 year. So far I have never felt that my vertigo disappear completely. I was on Betaserc 10mg for many months and ginko biloba tanakan 40mg. I got the zombie feeling almost every day. Recently the doctor prescribed me with Amitryptaline (2x10mg) per day. The zombie feeling still there but quite mild. But the vertigo will still attack me if I work too much such as working continuously in front of PC for 2hours, intense thinking, involved in brainstorming session, etc.
And if I take a 1-2 hour nap daytime the vertigo will easily occur almost immediately after wake up. Pls advise what should I do.
Hi, Your doctor has advised the correct medications to you. Please consult your Doctor whether he/she can perform a diagnostic and repositioning maneuver described for BPPV. Once he does that, you wil be partially better off. But, you still need to continue medications for some more days. Then you will be alright. Please get a Pure tone audiometry done for you. To rule out any hearing loss.
