HI, i have been diagoned with gram negative and positive diplo cocci, and gonorrhea. I took cipro 500 mg for about a month but it didnt work and than i had a shot of Ceftrixine 1 gm ( in my vien ) and also took doxcycline 100 mg for 2 weeks. but I still have penile dischage. I feel i have become anti biotic resistant. What is the best medication for me ? kindly advise
At this point it will be best to do an antibiogram or antibiotics resistant test. This can be done through acquire a sample (urethral swap) or urinalysis then culturing the sample for about a week after which, specific antibiotics will be tested and then you will be provided with an appropriate antibiotics. Normally combination of those treatments would have been effective but if they seem not to work, then there is a chance of resistance. Another thing is that you might just be having spontaneous semen discharge which of course is harmless and infection-free. There are other numerous medications available but it would not be advised to take any without running the culture.
Hope this helps
