Diagnosed With Fibromyalgia And Chronic Migraines. Have Projectile Vomit. Prescribe Drug?

I have seen many doctors and none of them really try to figure out whats wrong with. Ive been diagnosed with fibromyalgia and chronic migraines, which i believe are correct, however, between ovulation and my period not only do i get migraines that increase in severity the closer to my period but i get a very dull, whiplash-like pain the base of my skull . Usually on the left side, about half inch from my spine . Nothing i have been prescribes even remotely dulls this pain. I have had an mri but, of couse, this was performed when i was in no pain. Thats my main concern. Secondly, aabout three weeks ago, i now get very, very hot after i eat, but not all the time, but definitely daily. I then have to dash to the restroom to projectile vomit . After that, i break out into a cold sweat and faint. My neurologist and primary tell me its migraines, but its not. I need a medication that numbs my pain receptors in my neck. Is there such a thing? I read about someone who was also experiencing these whiplash-like neck pain/migraines and they stated that the only thing that worked for them was cocaine. Obviously, i dont want to do drugs, but would like to know if there are any legal prescription drugs that numb abd have the same reaction as cocaine?

Hello opal1082,

I can understand your concern for the health problems that have been troubling you. Let me remind you that there are no short cuts to success in life, it is hard work that pays in long run. Similarly there are no short cuts to a healthy lifestyle. Forget about addiction producing items. They will give you temporary relief and worsen your health and life later.

Fibromyalgia and migraine are ailments for which you need treatment. I hope your General practitioner has given you medications for it. You have not specified your age and weight. If you are overweight and suffering from chronic fibromyalgia, you should get T3, T4 and TSH tests done. Your symptoms of feeling hot and projectile vomiting can be due to some dysfunction in your thyroid gland. You can consult a doctor and get your investigations done, thyroid problems usually arise as a complication in patients suffering from fibromyalgia. Don't worry it gets well after diagnosis is done and treatment started.

Do not make a habit of popping in medicines for all types of pains. I will suggest you to practice good sleep techniques to get rid of your neck pain. Change your mattress, take a comfortable one. You can avoid a pillow or take a smaller one and see if your neck feels good. Avoid taking caffeine or minimize the number of the drinks. Take nutritious food and a planned balanced diet. Practice meditation and do exercise or brisk walk regularly.

Change your lifestyle, do what gives you happiness and does not hamper your health, maintain a dairy to note down your problems. Compare and see if you are really improving. Stay positive and avoid all those activities or people who make you upset. Try to localize what worsens your symptoms. Be strict to avoid doing those activities. Get stress free and enjoy life. Stay in contact with your GP.
