Diagnosed With L4-L5 / L5-S1, DDD, Prolapse. Did Conservative Treatment. Now Having Severe Back Pain. Suggestions?

I was diagnosed with L4-L5 / L5-S1, DDD and L5-S1 disc prolapse on the left in Jan 2010. I underwent conservative treatment (ayurvedic inpatient tretament for about 21 days) in a ayurvedic hospital in Kochi in 2010 and found improvement. I have been having severe low back pain for the past one week. Please advise. Many thanks

Hi,
Welcome to HCM,
It seems that you got osteoartheritis changes in your lumbo sacral region and requires evaluation of your case.
You may require CT scan of lumbo-sacral region and plan of the treatment can be decided accordingly.
It can be treated conservatively or surgical intervention may require.
Consult your orthopedic surgeon or spine specialist and get examined.
Cause of your sever low back pain is due to pressing or irritation of nerves passing through these affected vertebrae.
Ok and bye.
