Diagnosed With GERD And Gastroparesis. Suitable Age For Undergoing Anti-reflux Laparoscopy?

Good evening ,

I've been diagnosed with GERD and Gastroparesis . I'm a 22 years old female I did a gastric emptying test , EGD , and a colonoscopy which all turned normal . But the gastric emptying test indicated that i don't digest foot well after the period of 4 hours so i was put on a diet . I still have little reflux and i'm going to do the PH test soon . My questions are i red about the anti reflux laporoscopy but my doctor said he would not recommend it because i'm young what is the appropriate age to do the surgery and y am i young for it ? are GERD and Gastroparesis related to each other ? how often are GERD and Gastroparesis common and how often is anti reflux laporoscopy done ?

Thanks

HI
Thank for asking to HCM
GERD is very common all over the world and it is curable and the success rate of cure is much satisfactory, If I would be a your Doctor then I certainly put you on proton pump inhibitor and asking for changing in diet as well as your life styles like Omeprazole 40 mg once in day at evening time for six week, avoiding coffee alcohol heavy meal before going to bed, keeping your stress level low, eat alkali food, divide the meal in three parts, these of course gives very good result, when we have way out there then why to think about some surgical procedure try this, and have great day.
