Diagnosed With COPD. History Of Emphysema. How Long Will I Be Taking Medicine?
the doctor diagnosed me with COPD never was really a smoker but still the same due to the invironment I acquired it I have three kids and four young grand without grandfathers all except two and I'm dong everything including changing my diet because I have gerd as well to stay living I've been reading some of the suggestions online and many of them I already do as far as what I drink and eat but I still have a problem as if something besides the disease itself is warring me down and I know it's a disease that you can live with then I was driving and in a car accident and a airbag burst and I consumed whatever was in it and the car was a 0000 the accident was 2012 at that point even though the doctor was weaning me off of o2 and saying my lungs were not that bad after they said I had emphysema and know I might be on it forever however long that will be sorry didn't know it was a fee

Emphysema is characterized by destruction of gas exchanging airspaces ,i.e.bronchioles, alveolar ducts & alveoli.
Their wall ( alveoli , ducts ) become perforated & obliterated .
In your case it is not clear , which type of emphysema , you are having as it is two types ,
1 centriacinar emphysema &
2 panacinar emphysema.
Prognosis and treatment depends upon the type of emphysema .
Alveoli , bronchioles , ducts ,damages will reveals exact nature of treatment and how long , you ahve to take it.
