my dad is diabetic and we work together and he keeps losing it that badly with me that he had me against a wall the other day and if i was a man he would have head butted me - today he would have thrown tea. he is is 70. i am 42 (im female). there are problems at work and i am taking the firm through a lot of changes but when he has these outbursts it sets me back loads in front of the staff and our business partners- he has told me he f***ing hates me which i is out of character and i know this isnt true, and he gets this snarl on his face where i dont recognise him. he can be the same with my mum. i asked my mum today is he is taking his blood suger levels. he hasnt for ages but his diabetic nurse has actually made him take them 2 or 3 times a day this week as she thinks he needs a higher dose of insulin - which he injects in his stomach . i am not an easy person and under a lot of stress but my dad never used to be like this. i dont recogise him anymore. could this be the diabetes or do you think he has just changed with age?
