Developed PPD. Treatment?

I had received a ppd in June of 2012. I was working in South Africa embassy. Although it was determined that it was not positive i was a few millimeters shy from potentially being recorded as a positive result. Today I received another ppd test and ther is some swelling a bit with a little redness. It has been about 8 hours since the shot. I am also military. They told me to come back Friday. Just a bit concerned.

Hi,
PPD test is Montoux test and this is a screening test which just indicates exposure to TB infecton. Confirmation for TB is by sputum examination for Acid fast bacilli and culture. As you have been working in Africa, an endemic country for TB, I suggest you undergo confirmatory tests if You have any doubts.
Montoux test is not a confirmatory test

Hi friend,
Welcome to Health Care Magic

Initial and Delayed reactions differ.
It is not the colour but the measurement of the induration that matters -

If positive, you may need further investigations to assess the activity...
No need to panic - Tuberculosis is a curable disease...

Take care
Wishing speedy recovery
God bless
Good luck
