Diabetologist 's  Response
DEAR SIR/MADAM

PROTIEN DIET RESTRICTION IS ADVICED, IF PATIENT HAS RAISED CREATININE LEVELS.
CONTROL OF HYPERTENSION IS VERY IMPORTANT IN ARRESTING THE PROGRESSION OF RAISED CREATININE LEVELS.
RENOLOG CONTAINS SOME ALPHA KIEO AMINO ACIDS WHICH WILL HELP TO DECREASE THE CREATININE LEVELS.
AVOID USING DIURETICS IF PATIENT IS TAKING ANY OF IT.

THANKS

Radiologist Dr. Vivek Chail's  Response
Hi,
Thanks for writing in.

With history of diabetes and hypertension, long term complications include diabetic retinopathy, nephropathy and neuropathy.

You have already mentioned about his retinopathy surgery.
The increasing creatinine is a concern and can be expected in diabetes patients. This needs to be treated urgently and creatinine levels have to be repeated at intervals. Increasing creatinine level is a sign of decreasing kidney function.

Please consult a qualified nephrologist and follow as instructed.

Hope this helps.
