Could Tiredness, stomach Cramping, feeling More Hungry And Frequent Urination Indicate Pregnancy?

Hey, I had a period 3 weeks ago around about the 6th September. Which would have been a monday if i am correct. I finished on the Thursday, and had intercourse around 14/15days later on a Friday, and again on Saturday. I did not use any form of contraception. Am i likely to get pregnant? Its been a week since i last had sex. and i feel quite tired, and have stomach cramping. I also feel more hungry than usual, and urinate frequently at night. Is there a good chance i could be pregnant?

Hello, and I hope I can help you today.

If you have been having unprotected sex, there is a possibility you could be pregnant, regardless of the timing. Sperm can live in the reproductive tract for up to 5 days, and your egg is capable of fertilization for 72 hours. It is not possible to know your ovulation time without knowing the typical length of your cycle. Most women ovulate about 14 days before they get their period.

Pregnancy symptoms also vary widely between women, and the symptoms that are commonly associated with pregnancy like nausea, bloating, breast tenderness and spotting can also indicate PMS or an irregular ovulatory cycle.

But the most common sign of pregnancy is missing your period. So if your period is late or abnormal, I recommend purchasing and performing an over-the-counter pregnancy test and performing it according to the package directions using your first morning urine sample. A urine pregnancy test will be positive within 10 days of conception.

So in summary, there is no way to know if you've conceived based on symptoms. In the meantime, I recommend preparing for pregnancy by keeping a healthy diet, getting plenty of rest and drinking adequate water and reducing caffeine and alcohol consumption.

I hope I was able to adequately answer your question today and that this information was helpful.

Best wishes,

Dr. Brown
