Otolaryngologist / ENT Specialist 's  Response
Hi,

Tinnitus is a symptom to an underlying problem in the ear, also it is not an infection that can spread, the medication the doctor put you on is the right one but I will be able to better comment if I can know what you’re hearing assessment was.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Rachana Gaddipati, Otolaryngologist / ENT Specialist
