Could The Delayed Periods Be Due To Sudden Weight Loss?

I have lost almost 20 pounds in the last 30 days by taking GLA but now my period is late. it usually regular. ive taken 2 home pregnancy tests and they both gave a neg. I m on some heavy meds. that ive been on for almost 2.5 years. I know these meds could hurt the child if I am. I don t know if i should be worried or if its just because of the sudden weight lost.

Hi,

Yes, weight can lead to delayed periods. As your pregnancy test is negative, the cause for delay can be due to anovulation. Please get USG report done to look for PCOS- polycystic ovaries.

Please seek prescription support from your treating doctor for Tablets Regestrone 5 mg twice a day for 5 days, this will help to induce periods.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
