Could The Klebsiella Pneumoniae UTI Be Picked Up In The Swimming Pool?

Dear Doctor, i have just been diagnosed with a Klebsiella pneumoniae uti. I am in my 4th day of treatment. My uti symptoms are better but I still have a burning senstaion in vaginal area. Is it possible the infection is also present here? Could this Klebsiella infection be picked up in a swimming pool? Thank you for your response

Hello,

No. You cannot get UTI from the swimming pool. Burning sensation in vaginal area could be related to the urinary infection. Continue taking antibiotics as prescribed. Drink plenty of water. And take Tylenol for pain.

Hope this answers your query
