Could Swollen Neck Glands With Painful Muscles In Neck Be Allergy?

I have aching eustation tubes, slightly swollen neck glands (below ear) and my muscles ache when holding my head in a normal position, e.g., unless my head is laying back or I am laying down, my neck hurts. I sneeze a few times a day. I assume an allergy, but should I see a doc before taking allergy med?

hi
The neck glans may be swollen lymph nodes or parotid salivary gland(near ear)Latter gland inflammation leads to parotitis with difficulty in mastication of food, pain in surrounding neck muscles and jaw.It may be due to some infection or due to block in its duct.Eustachian canal conecting to oral cavity also often inflames by ascending infection, block of parotid duct.It is usually a viral infection unles a throat swab culture shows secondary bacterial infection.you may consult a physician or a surgeon and start on anti-inflaammatory medicines, pain meds and antibiotics as will be prescribed by doctor
