Could Swollen Intestine, typhoid And Diarrhea Be Ibs?

Hi, After a month long travelling to various places (holiday). I had typhoid and in the course of treating typhoid I had diahrea and stomach bloating, which didnt get better after repeated prescription by a GP. Due to which I had anxiety, and it didnt get any better for atleast couple of months. My stool is loose but not watery. Then I consulted a GI specialist, he did colonoscopy and found everything normal. Diagnosis: swollen intestine and prescribed rifagut 200mg for 10 days and meva c and Rabeprazole for 2months. Is it ibs?

Hi
There is a definite possibility of IBS
However to diagnose IBS, the symptoms should last much longer and in continuous cycles before saying that it is IBS.
Besides, to a large extent, doctors consider IBS a diagnosis of exclusion, meaning that the other conditions need to be ruled out before saying that this could be IBS.
The catch is that every disease has a beginning.
So overall I agree with your gastroenterologist

As for the treament protocol started, I would agree with the treatment given. I would suggest the addition of amitryptiline, but thats optional

Best of luck
