Hello,
You most likely caused irritation to the throat such as a scratch. Were you able to remove the piece of broken plastic? Did you match it to the fork to see if you have the entire fork intact? I suspect it was sharp and now throat will take a few days to feel better. Soothe the area with warm salt water rinses multiple times a day. Maintain a bland diet, avoid acidic, spicy and hard foods. Take some Antiinflammitory medication such as Tylenol or Advil. See your doctor if swelling or you feel that a piece of plastic might still be wedged in your throat. Consider an a valuation if you do not continue to feel better or any symptoms worsen. A fever would indicate infection.
Thank you for your inquiry. I hope you will feel better soon.
